ALBANY- On a lovely, warm Sunday April 2, 2023, we said our last goodbyes to our beautiful, tenacious, kind, and loving mom, Pam. Just days before her 80thbirthday, she left us to finally be reunited with her beloved son, Kevin Michael, whom she has missed for nearly 31 years.

Pamela Elizabeth Noonan was born in Albany to Dorothea E. and Peter E. Noonan, Sr. She was the youngest of their four children. Pam grew up in Albany, where she fondly remembered the good times she had with her siblings and neighborhood friends playing hide and seek and baseball. She attended St. James School and the Academy of the Holy Names, class of 1960. She then joined her brother, Brian M. Noonan at Merrimack College in Andover, MA where she graduated with a degree in Business. Pam then earned her Master’s Degree in Psychology from Assumption College in Worcester, MA, where she met our Dad, her former husband, Joseph T. Montimurro. How lucky is she to have all of them waiting for her to arrive at the end of this journey.

Pam worked as a counselor at a local college in Worcester, before moving back to Albany, where she began working at the State Legislature and later as the Special Assistant to the Commissioner of New York State Department of Tax and Finance.

Left behind to carry on her legacy are her beloved children and grandchildren. Her eldest son, Joseph P. Montimurro and his children, Kaitlyn, Benjamin, and Zachary, as well as their mother, Jennifer S. Montimurro. Her middle son, Daniel C. Montimurro and his children, Abigail and Emily also with their mother, Margaret R. Montimurro. Her daughter and her husband, Cathleen and James Santaski. Pam, in her own words, remarked that her children were her, “most treasured gifts” and that the “most wonderful gift she could receive beyond that would be her grandchildren.” Becoming a grandmother was her greatest honor, and boy did she love those babies!

Our Mom also leaves behind to celebrate her life, her best friend and travel buddy, her sister Polly N. Rutnik: her brother and sister-in-law, Peter and MaryAnne Noonan, Jr. and her sister-in-law Bonita V. Noonan. She was also very loved by many nieces, nephews and cousins in the McLean, Noonan and Montimurro families.

Pam’s fondest memories with her siblings and parents were at the place she loved the most, their one-room cabin in Floods Pond, Maine, where they spent many summers together. Pam loved making Halloween costumes for her grandchildren, watching the Red Sox, doing crossword puzzles, and reading. She loved literature, history, writing, and was so proud of her Irish and Scottish heritage. Pam especially loved animals, having had pets her entire life.

Our family wishes to thank the staff at the Beverwyck Eddy Village Green in Slingerlands for their care and compassion while taking great care of our mom these last three years.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with her family Monday, April 17, from 4-7 pm in the Daniel Keenan Funeral Home, Inc., 490 Delaware Ave. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, April 18 at 9:30 am in St. Francis of Assisi Church, (formerly St. James Church), 391 Delaware Ave. Inurnment will follow the Mass in St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to our annual walk team (Ms.Montis Team) at Alz.org to support Alzheimer’s research or to Pam’s favorite charity, the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society, 3 Oakland Ave., Albany, NY 12204.
