Molitor, William A.

ALBANY - William A. Molitor, 84, surrounded by family, passed away August 22, 2013 after a courageous battle with cancer. William was born in Albany to Eugene and Carolyn (Griswold) Molitor, the third of seven children. Bill “Pa” was a committed, hardworking man employed for over twenty years with A & P Grocery store and retiring as a Food Broker with Norton Chadwick. He was a lifelong member of the Elks Club, and was a huge Yankee fan that never missed a game.

In addition to his parents, Bill was predeceased by his wife Joan (McConnell) Molitor and his brothers Joseph, John and Michael and his sister Carolyn Littleton. He is survived by his children, Susan (Jeff) Sheehan, Billy (Patty) Molitor, Donna Gentile (Ozzie Priotti), Diane (Paul) Kellogg, Patsy (Paul) McGreevy, Joanne “JoJo” (J.P.) Norton and Tommy (Kelly) Molitor; his brothers Eugene (Marilyn) Molitor and Edward (Tracie) Molitor. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, August 26, 2013 at 11 am in the Parish of Mater Christi, 40 Hopewell St., Albany. Relatives and friends are invited and may also call at the Daniel Keenan Funeral Home, Inc., 490 Delaware Ave. on Monday prior to the Mass from 9:00 to 10:30 am. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Glenmont. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may send memorial contributions to the Albany Elks, BPOE #49, 25 South Allen St. Albany, NY 12208.
