GLENMONT - Ronald G. Miller, 72, died Saturday, June 5, 2010 at Memorial Sloan Kettering Hospital in NYC. Born in Ft. Dodge, Iowa, he was the son of Bernice (Johnson) Miller of Chatfield, MN and the late Cleo Miller. Mr. Miller earned a BA in Business Administration from the University of South Dakota in Vermilion. He was an Army Veteran having served as a member of the Elite 101st Airborne. He was a helicopter pilot who flew many rescue missions during the Vietnam War. He also flew fixed wing aircraft in the DMZ in Korea. Mr. Miller was the recipient of many combat air medals. At the time of his death, he was a consultant and trainer with Caro-Vail in Niverville. Mr. Miller had previously been Northeast Sales Manager for Ciba-Geigy of Greensboro, NC for 27 years.

He was a member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church and belonged to several Agronomy Organizations. He enjoyed gardening, tending his lawn and loved reading, especially history and American Indians.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his beloved wife of 44 years, Carolyn (Smith) Miller; his son, Bradford Elliott Miller of Florence, Italy; siblings Reagan (Diane) Miller of Stewartville, MN and Rebecca (Alton) Asleson of Chatfield, MN; sister-in-law Gillian Smith of Edmonds, WA , several nieces and nephews and his feline companions, “bunny footed” Chloe Boy as well as Tui.

Funeral services will be held Friday, June 11, 2010 at 10:30 am in St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 21 Hackett Blvd., Albany 12208. Relatives and friends are invited. There will be no calling hours.

Interment with Military Honors will follow the service at 1:00 pm in the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Rd., Schuylerville, NY.
