Michelle Hupe (Gaylord) passed away peacefully on January 13, 2024, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Albany on April 25, 1963, daughter of the late Charles and Joan Gaylord. Michelle graduated from Mercy High School and SUNY Albany with a bachelor’s in criminal justice. She pursued a career with New York State before embracing her most cherished role as a devoted stay-at-home mom after the birth of her daughters.
She enjoyed spending time decorating for the holidays, baking with her girls, laughing at Charlie’s many jokes, and most importantly Michelle loved spending summers with her family at their camp on the Sacandaga Lake.
Throughout her life, Michelle's strength, resilience, and unwavering love shone brightly, especially during her 30-year heroic battle with multiple sclerosis. Her enduring spirit inspired all who knew her, leaving a permanent mark on their hearts.
Michelle is survived by her loving husband, Charles “Hoop” Hupe, her daughters Meaghan Baxter (Sean) and Caitlin, and her beloved grandchildren, Erin Mae and Keegan Charles. Also survived by her brother Patrick Gaylord of New Mexico. She leaves behind a legacy of love, determination, and devotion that will continue to guide and inspire.
