Michael J. Ray

ALBANY- Michael J. Ray passed away suddenly on Sunday January 26, 2025 at Albany Medical Center.

Michael was a longtime resident of Albany and a United States Army Veteran. Michael served his country and received an honorable discharge for his service during the Vietnam War.

He was the son of Lazetta McCoy and the late John Ray. Forty-four years a loving husband of Susan Coons; father of Danielle Benedict, Shane Ray and Savannah Ray; grandfather of seven beautiful grandchildren Raymond Poole, Marty Poole, Nathaniel Ray, Jeffrey Miller, Gage Miller, Jameson Ray and Remington Ray; great-grandfather of Hayden Poole and Ira Poole; brother of Darlene Paul, Sandra Smith, Laura O’Kelly, Michele Ray, Cynthia Costigan, Victoria Rochfort, Lacey Dourcette, Leslie Carisle, Kitt McCoy and Amy Nash; father-in-law of Martin Poole, Sr., Jeffrey Miller and Kassandra Hall. Michael leaves behind many friends and family and will be greatly missed. “Anybody tell you they love you today?”

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Michael’s family on Tuesday February 11, 2025 from 3-5 pm in the Daniel Keenan Funeral Home 490 Delaware Ave. Albany.
