Mckeough, Diana P.

DELMAR- Diana P. McKeough, 94, passed away Wednesday, February 09, 2022 at the Daughter’s of Sarah Nursing Home. Born in Montreal, Canada, Diana was the daughter of Patrick Patnaude and Vera Tierney. She met her beloved husband in 1946 in her home town of St. Hyacinthe, Canada. Diana and Bill married in 1951 and she became a US citizen shortly there after. In 1952, Diana gave birth to her first of three children and only son William Patrick McKeough, Jr, followed by Susan Margaret McKeough in 1953, then Ann Elizabeth McKeough in 1957.

In 1960 Diana’s husband started his own landscaping business William P. McKeough Landscaping Inc. and in addition to raising the three children, she became bookkeeper for the business.

In addition to being matriarch of the family Diana found the time to volunteer for the American Cancer Society fund raising for cancer awareness in the community. She also volunteered for twenty years at Child’s Hospital which she enjoyed very much. This encapsulated who she was as a person.

Diana is survived by son Pat (Kathi), daughter Ann Brewster (late Peter), seven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, son-in-law Rich Bacon and her sister-in-law Constance McKeough and many nieces and nephews.

Diana was predeceased by her beloved husband and best friend of 66 years William McKeough, her daughter Susan Bacon and her three sisters Ada McKenna, Lucille Wood and Ann Gaudette.

Diana’s family wishes to thank all those who cared for her particularly the Daughter’s of Sarah Nursing Home.

Diana’s Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, February 14, 2022 at 10:00 am at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, Delmar. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Interment will be held St. Mary’s Cemetery, Amsterdam on Tuesday.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Daughter’s of Sarah Nursing Home, 180 Washington Ave. Ext., Albany, NY 12203.
