ALBANY- Geraldine V. McDermott, 93, died peacefully surrounded by the love and gratitude of her family and friends, September 29, 2022, in the Hospice Inn at St. Peter’s Hospital, after a long and fruitful life. Geraldine was the daughter of the late Moses Sylvanus (Vern) Brooks and Una Frechette Brooks. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who cherished laughter, love, and most of all her family. She was a beloved employee of Main-Care Energy for 25 years working as an Installation Clerk and Receptionist up until the age of 85. She loved reading, doing crossword puzzles, and her beloved Boston Red Sox.

Geraldine was predeceased by her loving husband of 32 years, Paul Joseph McDermott, Sr, and sisters Vivian Brennan, Dorothy Young, and Elizabeth Ludwick. Geraldine is survived by her children Vern McDermott (Carrie), Johnstown, NY, Elizabeth (Beth) McDermott (deceased), Raymond McDermott, Albany, NY, Paul J. McDermott, Jr., Albany, NY, Kelly Lehmann (Harold), Navarre, FL, and Molly Nichols (Alex), Voorheesville, NY; grandchildren Sarah Walsh (Colin), Benjamin Phelps, Paul E. McDermott, Nicholas McDermott (Jessica), Kella Seeber (Daniel), Emma Nichols, Chloe Nichols, Patrick Lehmann (Rebecca), Zachary Lehmann (Renee), and Grant Lehmann; great-grandchildren Michel Perkins, Finley Walsh, Deklan and LeIand Seeber, Aria and Nora McDermott, Savannah, Scottlyn, and Saylor Lehmann, and Jack and Anderson Lehmann.

Funeral services will be held at the Daniel Keenan Funeral Home, 490 Delaware Ave, Albany, Thursday, October 6, 2022, at 12pm. Relatives and friends are invited and may visit with her family at the funeral home from 10 am to 12 noon prior to her service. Burial will be in Holy SepulchreCemetery in Rensselaer, NY. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Albany Therapeutic Riding Center, 6640 Fuller Station Rd., Altamont, NY, 12209, or the Hospice Inn at St. Peter’s Hospital 315 S.
