Mason, Florence H.

DELMAR – Florence Herrick Mason, entered into eternal rest at the age of 101 on Monday, November 04, 2019. Born in Java, NY, she was the daughter of Fremont and Florence Herrick.She graduated from Rochester Business Institute and was employed at the Metropolitan Life Insurance Company.

Florence was the finest home maker and had a myriad of hobbies including gardening, photography, cooking, entertaining, miniaturist, seamstress, and endless crafting.She was particularly proud of her certificate for mastering the Palmer Method of handwriting.

Florence and her husband, Harold, spent many years in Delmar raising their six daughters, who were blessed to have such an amazing person for their mother.Florence and Harold retired to Edinburg, NY where they built their dream home on the lake.

She was predeceased by her husband Harold Mason, and her three daughters, Sheila Truscott, Bonnie Stevens, and Terri Garand.She is survived by daughters Gail (Durk) Oord, Darlene (George) Dowse and Melissa (James) Haas, and by sons-in-law David Truscott, Robert Stevens, and Andre Garand.She was the grandmother of 16 and "Grandma Great” to 22.
