DELMAR- It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Meghan Amanda Marohn, 42, on September 1, 2022. Born in Albany, Meghan was the loving daughter of William and the late Ellen Marohn. She graduated from St. Thomas the Apostle grade school, the Academy of the Holy Names and Russell Sage College. She earned her Master’s degree in education from Fairleigh Dickinson University where she also served as an adjunct professor.
Meghan was a devoted teacher. She taught English at Chatham High School in New Jersey and also at Shaker High School. She was a creative, free spirit who loved to travel and spend time outdoors. Meghan was a poet and established the Troy Poetry Project. She was an activist, environmentalist, and was involved with the Sanctuary for Independent Media in Troy.
Meghan is survived by her father, William; her siblings Peter Naple (Eileen Sanford), Amy Naple, Bill Marohn (Nicole), and Michael Marohn (Sara Vann); her nieces and nephews McKayla, Fitz, Austin and Harper; aunts, uncles, and many dear friends.
All are invited to visit with Meghan’s family on Saturday, October 1, 2022 from 1-4 pm in the Daniel Keenan Funeral Home, Inc., 490 Delaware Ave. Albany. A celebration of life will take place at a later date.
