Marie Rose “Queenie” Losi, 90, passed away on Wednesday May 15,2024 in her sleep at home, with loved ones close by. She was born on May 1,1934 to John and Rosemary Nardolillo.
She grew up in the south end of Albany and was a graduate of Cathedral Academy. Queenie worked at public school #24 (TOAST) for 32 years, first as a server and then eventually as cafeteria manager. During this time, she made sure all the students were served nutritious meals whether they had their lunch money or not. She was loved by the students as well as her co-workers.
Most important to Queenie was her family. She was a loving wife and mother, always doting on her children and grandchildren. Every Sunday Queenie could be found in the kitchen cooking up a storm for her family and whoever showed up for a delicious meal. Her brothers especially enjoyed attending. It was a weekly celebration that brought so much fun, laughs, and joy to all.
Queenie will be remembered for her thoughtfulness and kindness, never forgetting to send family members and friends a card or gift on birthdays and special occasions. She was truly a special person whose radiant personality and concern for others made you feel fortunate to have known her.
Queenie is survived by her children, Joseph (Gretchen), John (Enza) and Jill Losi; grandchildren, Nikita and Antonina and their mother Natalia Losi; siblings, John Nardolillo (Mary Ellen), Helene Scovello, Billy Nardolillo and Peter (Kathy) Nardolillo; nieces and nephew and cousin Charles Mirabile and his family.
Queenie was predeceased by her loving husband of 66 years, Anthony C. Losi, siblings, Francis, Joseph and Susan Nardolillo and her nephew Peter Charles Nardolillo.
