Marie G. Choppa

ALBANY - Marie (DeMaria) Choppa, 98, passed away peacefully on Monday December 18, 2023 at Samaritan Hospital.
Born and educated in Albany she was the daughter of the late Dominick and Antoinette (Graziano) DeMaria.
Marie worked as an office assistant for many years at the former School 23 in Albany. She was a communicant of St. Thomas the Apostle Church and the former St. James Church.
Marie enjoyed spending time with her family especially her grandchildren whom she cherished. She also enjoyed time spent at the family camp in North Hudson.
Wife of the late Joseph Choppa; mother of Richard (Teresa) Choppa and the late Judy Ann Choppa; sister of the late Joseph, Sr., Anthony, Dominick, Jr. DeMaria and Frances Aiezza; grandmother of Eric and Rachel Choppa. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews and her Shih Tzu, Charlie.
Her funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, December 27, 2023 at 10 am in St. Thomas the Apostle Church 35 Adams Pl. Delmar. Relatives and friends are invited and may also visit her family on Tuesday, December 26, from 4-7 pm in the Daniel Keenan Funeral Home 490 Delaware Ave. Albany. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Glenmont. In lieu of flowers those who wish may send memorial contributions to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
