Mahar, Janice E.

LATHAM- Janice E. Mahar 77, passed away peacefully, Sunday January 13, 2019 at the Hospice Inn at St. Peter’s Hospital.Born and educated in Albany, she was the daughter of the late Elmer and Ethel Mae (Hurlbut) Bilisle.

At one time, she worked for many years at Kolber’s Farm Stand in Albany, she then went to work as a cashier for the Albany Parking Authority, retiring in 2009 after 17 years of service.

Janice is survived by her husband of 59 years, James, Sr.; children Donna (Scott), Lorrie (Thomas), James, Jr., and Todd (Terri); 9 Grandchildren Danielle, Kourtney, Brittany, Brady, James III, Heather, Amber, Kelsey, and Sarah; three great-grandchildren Nathan, Brianna and James IV; siblings Ethel, Barbara and John; also several nieces and nephews, and her faithful canine companion Milo. She was predeceased by her two grandchildren Steven and Amanda; and her sisters Shirley, Gloria and Francine.

The family wishes to thank the nurses and staff of 6 McAuley especially Katrina as well as the staff of the Hospice Inn for their care and compassion.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with her family Thursday, January 17 from 4-7 pm in the Daniel Keenan Funeral Home, Inc., 490 Delaware Ave.

Funeral services will be held Friday, Jan 18, at 10 am in the funeral home. Interment will follow the service in Memory Gardens Cemetery.
