Macomber, E. Scott

d. November 9, 2017

VOORHEESVILLE- E. Scott Macomber, 71, passed away at his home on November 9, 2017. Scott was born on June 14, 1946 in Palo Alto, California to Dr. W. Brandon Macomber and Catherine Guthrie Macomber. He attended The Albany Academy, Trinity College (Hartford, CT), Albany Medical College, and he did his general surgery residency at The University of Texas Medical Branch, Galveston, Texas. Scott returned to Albany, NY for his plastic surgery residency and in 1977 joined The Plastic Surgery Group of W.B. Macomber (later to become The Plastic Surgery Group) and was in practice until 2013. Scott was a caring, compassionate, and dedicated physician, and he applied these same qualities to his interests outside of work: gardening, woodworking, tree farming, and most particularly, golf. Scott was a passionate and exceptional golfer (with the help of his renowned putter) and during the last four years of his life, he played as much as he could. When Scott was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in 2013, he was grateful to be under the care of Dr. Jason Heckman, Dr. Lawrence Garbo, Dr. Todd Doyle, Dr. William Notis, Dr. Joseph Choma, and Dr. Mark Fruiterman, golf nemesis and friend. Scott is survived by his wife, Cindra Bishop Macomber; his children, Courtney Bishop Macomber (Erik Mueller) of San Anselmo, CA, Britta Macomber Hallisey (John) of Hingham, MA, Brandon Scott Macomber (Elisa) of Santa Fe, NM; his little bright lights, Maisie Scott Mueller, Ryan Bishop Hallisey, Quinn Macomber Hallisey, and Brendan John Hallisey; and his brothers, Brandon (Sandy) Macomber (Anne) of Evergreen, CO and Mark Macomber (Catherine) of Albany, NY.

Calling hours will be held in the Albany Room at the The Albany Country Club, 300 Wormer Road, Voorheesville, NY 12186 on Wednesday, November 15, 2017 from 4 to 7pm.
