SELKIRK – Frederick D. Luck passed away unexpectedly while doing what he loved on Sunday, September 10, 2017. He was 62 years old. Fred was born to missionary parents, the late Frederick H. Luck and Doris Hoffman Luck in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia before settling in the Albany area. As a child, Fred loved spending time with his family, camping and learned his love of woodworking from his father. He was a graduate of Ravena Coeymans Selkirk High School and Siena College. Fred spent many years as a practicing CPA and more than 20 years working for Mechanical Dynamics and Analysis as Vice President, Treasurer and CFO.
Fred was an avid golfer, camper, fisherman and woodworker who enjoyed the Adirondacks and the outdoors. He was also a member of the Normanside Country Club.
Fred is the beloved husband of Colleen A. Maloney Luck; loving and supportive father of Jennifer (Nicholas) Isele of Wilton, and Frederick D. Luck Jr. of Pennsylvania; brother of Donna Marie Luck; proud grandfather of Gabriella Luck, Benjamin, Grant and Griffin Isele. He is also survived by his brother-in-law, Mark R. Maloney of Albany, many good friends, his faithful lab Ray and two cats Oreo and Yvonne.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Fred’s family on Thursday, September 14, from 4-7 pm in the Daniel Keenan Funeral Home, Inc., 490 Delaware Ave. Albany. His Funeral Service will be held Friday, September 15, at 10:00 am in the funeral home.
