Louttit, Diane D.C. Sr.

MENANDS- Sister Diane Louttit, DC died September 13, 2018 at St. Louise Residence in Menands. She was 72 years of age and 45 years vocation as a Daughter of Charity of St. Vincent dePaul.

She died accompanied by her family and her Sister Companions as she peacefully went to meet her Lord. Born April 23, 1946 she was the second of two children born to Charles Louttit and Geraldine Marie Fudge. Her parents and her sister, Mary Ann Mauriello all predeceased Sister Diane and welcomed her as she joyfully joined them in peace and happiness.

While serving as a Daughter of Charity, Sister Diane had two major ministries. First as an educator serving in Wilmington, Delaware, Bridgeport, CT and Syracuse, NY. In later years Sister Diane began a new ministry as a certified Chaplain of Spiritual Care serving at Ascension Health Hospitals in Binghamton, NY, Buffalo, NY and Lewiston, NY. Her kindness and compassion were espically appreciated by those whom she ministered. Her rich sense of humor often lightened those patients and family members who were most appreciative of that sense of humor and ready smile. Sister Diane embraced life and lived it to the fullest.

Sister Diane is survived by her nephew Anthony (Tony) Mauriello and his wife Coleen Mauriello; her nieces Amelia and Ava Mauriello; her nephews John Michael Foley and Charles Foley. She is also survived by her many friends, especially Sister Kate McNamara, Trappestine Religious Sister and Daughter of Charity and her Sister Comapnions at St. Louise House in Menands.

A wake for Sister Diane Louttit, DC will be held Sunday, September 16, 2018 from 4-7 pm at DePaul House Chapel 96 Menand Road, Menands. Her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, September 17th at 10:30 am in DePaul House Chapel. Interment will be in St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands.
