Louie Grandinetti

GLENMONT - Louie Grandinetti, 69, passed away August 28, 2024. Louie was born in Trieste, Italy and moved to Tarvisio, Italy where he grew up. He immigrated to Canarsie, Brooklyn with his mother and sister in the early seventies, where he graduated from Canarsie High School. At the age of 21, Louie became an American Citizen. Louie was the proud owner of Luigi’s Pizzeria in Peekskill, NY for 25 years, home of the GIANT SLICE! Later in life he was a dedicated Walmart employee for 15 years. We will remember him for his kindness towards others, unwavering devotion to his family through his exceptional work ethic and spinning pizzas with a smile. Louie fondly recalled his times skiing as a child in Italy, slinging pizzas at his shop, and laughing with his family.

Louie is survived by his daughters Nicole Chauvin (Jason) and Gabriella Smith (Zachary), grandsons, Andrew and Cameron Chauvin, and grand-pup, Koa Smith. Louie is predeceased by his mother, Josephine Grandinetti (DeLuca), sister, Francesca Surman and grandson, Hudson Chauvin.

Please join Louie’s family at the Daniel Keenan Funeral Home, 490 Delaware Ave, Albany, on Tuesday September 10th from 4 to 6pm followed by a memorial service at 6pm.
