ALBANY- Jean B. Longleway, died Wednesday, January 26, 2011 at her home.
Miss Longleway was born in Albany, the daughter of the late Walter and Helen (Norton) Longleway. She graduated from the Academy of the Holy Names and the College of St. Rose.
Miss Longleway began her working career as an administrative assistant for the New York State Dept. of Education where she conducted many professional licensing exams in New York City and Albany. She later retired from the NYS Higher Education Services Corporation where she had worked as an administrative assistant.
She was a Communicant of the former St. Teresa of Avila Church. In 2004 she moved from the family home on South Main Ave. in Albany to the Avila with her sister, Betty.
She was predeceased by her brother, Walter Norton Longleway, her sister, Betty Longleway and nephew Walter Charles Longleway. She is survived by her nieces; Regina Garcia and Jean Louise Scott both of CA. and Chun Longleway of Amsterdam, NY; several grandnieces and grandnephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, January 29, 2011 at 9:30 am at the Parish of Mater Christi, 40 Hopewell St., Albany. Relatives and friends are invited and may also call at the Daniel Keenan Funeral Home, 490 Delaware Ave, Albany on Friday, January 28, 2011 from 4 to 7 pm. Interment will be in St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands, NY.
