Lombardo, Viola A.

GLENMONT- Viola A. Lombardo, 86, passed away Thursday, May 11, 2023 at home. Born in Milford Center, NY, she was the daughter of the late Lyke and Mae (Dean) Packer and a graduate of Albany High School. Mrs. Lombardo was a Steno Supervisor with Hartford Insurance Company retiring in 1987 after many years of service. She was also a Communicant of St. Francis of Assisi Parish.

Viola was the beloved wife of the late Samuel P. Lombardo. She is the loving mother of Linda VanWie (Tom Harder), Thomas Lombardo (Jan), Michelle Burns (Mike), Richard Lombardo (Mary), Sandy Draper, and Janis Ruid (late Rick); grandmother of the late Robert VanWie, III; Darcy VanDenburg, Nicole and Thomas Lombardo, Michael Burns, Matthew Burns-Romero (Jorge), Katie Sheehan (Kevin), Matthew Lombardo (Jen), and Jana Young; great-grandmother of Ian Gilligan, Riley, Logan and Zachary Sheehan, Matthew and Grace Lombardo; sister of Herbie (Joan) Packer and the late Barbara Kennedy and Eddie Packer; extended family the late Teresa Tricomi, Gloria Lucarelli (Art), and Marie Salmeri (Vince); also survived by several nieces and nephews.



Relatives and friends are invited to visit with her family on Wednesday May 17, 2023 from 4-6 pm in the Daniel Keenan Funeral Home, 490 Delaware Ave. Funeral services will be held on Thursday May 18, 2023 at 1:30 pm in the Funeral Home. Entombment will follow in the Mausoleum of Graceland Cemetery, Albany. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the hospice program at the Samuel Stratton VA Medical Center, 113 Holland Ave., Albany, NY 12208.
