ALBANY- It is with great sadness that the family of David J. Linehan announces his passing, quietly at home, Thursday, April 26, 2018 at the age of 88 years.

He was born in Glens Falls, NY and was the son of John H. Linehan and Ida Kinary Linehan. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother John H. “Jack” Linehan, Jr. and sister Joan Linehan.

Dave will lovingly be remembered by his wife of 66 years, Marilyn and his children, David (Martin), Andrew (Lorraine) Stephen (Nancy), Timothy (Lisa)) and Mark. Dave will also be fondly remember by his five grandchildren Kathleen Linehan Tytka (Daniel) and Brian Linehan; Robert and John “Jack” Linehan, and Justin Gould (Cassandra); his great granddaughter Braelyn Gould; sister-in-law Dolores Winkler (John) and several nieces and nephews.

After his early years in Glens Falls, he became a lifelong resident of Albany. He graduated from Vincentian Institute where he met Marilyn and graduated from Siena College. He began his working career at B.T. Babbit, Norton Company and retired as District Director from NYS Workers’ Compensation Board.

He was active in Holy Cross Parish activities, the Holy Cross Men’s Association and coached the school’s baseball team as well as CYO activities. He was a lifelong sports fan and enjoyed watching his children and grandchildren’s sporting events. Along with his wife Marilyn, he was an ardent Yankees, Giants and March Madness fan. He enjoyed annual family vacations on Cape Cod at One Pine Knot Motel in Yarmouth.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with his family Monday, April 30, from 4-7 pm in the Daniel Keenan Funeral Home, Inc., 490 Delaware Ave.

His Funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, May 1, at 9:00 am at All Saints Catholic Church, 16 Homestead St. (behind CVS). Interment will follow the Mass at Our Lady of Angels Cemetery, Colonie.
