ALBANY
- Alfred F. LeMon, 91, of Albany, passed away peacefully on January 16, 2021.
A life-long resident of Albany, he was son of the late Harold and Rose (Myers) LeMon. He was a proud Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict. Al worked for the New York State Department of Motor Vehicles as the Director of Driver Improvement for 41 years, retiring in 1990. Al was also a longtime communicant of Historic St. Mary’s Church on Capitol Hill, and after Mass he would then go to his favorite place, Gateway Diner for his pancakes. He was also a member of the American Legion Ambrose Scully Post #1019.
He is survived by his loving nieces and nephews; Jacqueline Deaton, Kristen Deaton (Shawn Banks), Catherine Deaton, Courtney (Homdat) Singh, Kaitlyn (Drew) Deaton Walsh, Monique LeMon, Daniel LeMon and Michael LeMon. Al was predeceased by his sister Rose Mary Deaton and brother Willis LeMon.
Relatives and friends are invited and may visit with his family on Thursday January 28, 2021 from 9-10:30 am in the Daniel Keenan Funeral Home, 490 Delaware Ave. In accordance with mandated health guidelines, all guests must wear facemasks, observe social distancing and occupancy restrictions will be followed.
Al’s funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday at 11:00 am at Historic St. Mary’s Church on Capitol Hill, 10 Lodge St, Albany.
Interment will follow the Mass in St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands.
