Lee, Joan A.

COLONIE-Joan A. (Sanchez) Lee, 77, entered into eternal peace on Sunday, November 8, 2009 at St. Peter’s Hospital. Born in Albany, the daughter of the late Edmond and Jane (McNally) Sanchez, she attended the former St. John’s Academy. Mrs. Lee was a homemaker and was truly devoted to caring for her family.

She was the loving and devoted wife of 59 years to Joseph E. Lee; beloved mother of Christine (Robert) Saleh of Troy, Cynthia Lee Rekemeyer of Colonie and Joseph B. Lee of Guilderland; cherished grandmother of Robert Saleh of Colonie, Ryan Saleh of Albany, Rachel Lee and Justin Lee both of Guilderland and the late Justin Lee Rekemeyer (1994) and Joseph Howard Lee (1994), loving great-grandmother of Robert, Rebecca, James and Ryan Saleh; sister of Ralph (Virginia) Sanchez of Schenectady, Diane (the late Joseph) Penzabene of Albany and the late Joseph Sanchez (1959), Dolores Danz (1993) and Thomas Sanchez (2003). She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins. She will be especially missed by her lifelong friends, Joan and Bud Morrison of Colonie, Betty and Robert Sitterly of Albany and special friend Cathy Hunter of Loudonville.

Funeral services 9:15 am Thursday, November 12, 2009 from the Norman E. Dascher Funeral Home, 490 Delaware Ave., Albany thence to St. James Church, 391 Delaware Ave., where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am Relatives and friends are invited and may also call at the funeral home Wednesday, November 11, 2009 from 4-8 pm. Entombment will be in the Briarwood Mausoleum at Memory’s Garden Cemetery in Colonie.
