Laurent, Rene A.

ALBANY-René A. Laurent, 96, passed away on Sunday December 9, 2018 at Albany County Residential Facility in Colonie. Born in Hull, Quebec Canada he was the son of the late Edgar and Alexina (Trudeau) Laurent. Mr. Laurent was a graduate of Albany High School. He served with US Navy Seebees during World War II. René was a Carpenter with the Carpenter’s Local #291. He later worked for Brickman and Associates in Albany, retiring in 1985. René enjoyed hunting and fishing and was an avid golfer.

Survivors include his wife, Marjorie R. (Allen) Laurent; three daughters, Deborah Laurent of Gilboa, Michelle Cerone and her husband Joseph of Albany and Renee’ Laurent of Gilboa; three grandchildren, Jared and Renee’ Suitto and Whitney Crowningshield; a great-granddaughter, Izzabella Suitto. He was predeceased by his sister, Yvonne Deming.

Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Monday December 17, 2018 from 4:00-6:00 pm at the Daniel Keenan Funeral Home, 490 Delaware Ave., Albany, 12209.

A prayer service will be held at 6:00 pm at the funeral home at the conclusion of the visitation.

Inurnment will take place at the Saratoga National Cemetery privately at the convenience of the family.
