Latal, Reverend Kenneth O.

ALBANY- The Reverend Kenneth O Latal, died Friday, March 29, 2013 at Evergreen Commons in East Greenbush. Born in Rochester, NY on December 18, 1932, he was the son of the late Edward Henry and Rose Giberge Latal.

Mr. Latal is survived by his wife E. Angela Latal,; son, Kenneth O. Latal, Jr.(Sharon) of Schenectady; daughter Katherine L. Latal of Albany; grandson Nicholas C. Latal and great-grandson Payton T. Latal of Schenectady. He is also survived by his sister-in-law June Latal of Norwich, NY, brother-in-law and sister-in-law Edward and Janice Flaws of Newbury Ohio; also several cousins, nephews and nieces. He was pre-deceased by his brother John W., Edward J. and Herbert H. Latal. Mr. Latal was a 1951 graduate of Benjamin Franklin High School in Rochester, NY and received his B.A. from Wittenberg University in Springfield, Ohio where he majored in sociology and psychology. He received his Master of Divinity from Hamma School of Theology in May of 1958 and was ordained as a pastor of the United Lutheran Church in America, a predecessor body of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, on June 4, 1958. He and his wife, whom he met while working at the Warder Public Library in Springfield, Ohio, were married on June 9, 1956.
