ALBANY- John W. (Farrell) LaChapelle, took his final breaths surrounded by family on Monday, July 25, 2022 at age 66 after a brief bout with cancer.
He was the son of Alice (Farrell) LaChapelle and the late William LaChapelle. John graduated from Christian Brothers Academy, Hudson Valley Community College and Niagara University. He worked for Chrysler Financial for many years and later ended his career working for Albany County. His career took him and his family from New York to Pennsylvania and then to North Carolina where his children reside today.
In addition to his mother Alice (Farrell) LaChapelle, he is survived by his three children Nathan (Isabela) LaChapelle, Erin (Timothy) Hale, and Tyler (Kassindra) LaChapelle; and his three beloved grandchildren Nicholas, Cash and Luna.
John’s love for his family was evident to everyone who knew him. He had a quick wit, a verbose vocabulary, and an unforgettable laugh. He believed that life should not be taken too seriously and never missed the opportunity to have a good time. He was passionate about American blues music, Rock n Roll and sports trivia.
A Liturgy of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday, July 30, 2022 at 9:30 am in St. Francis of Assisi Church, 391 Delaware Ave. Albany immediately followed by burial in the family plot at Calvary Cemetery, Glenmont, NY.
John’s final battle evidenced his deep enduring love of family and his love and trust in the Lord. The circle has no end.
