Kroon, Efrain

WATERVLIET- Efrain Kroon Jr. (Butch), 76, passed away suddenly, with loved ones around him, on June 11,2021. Born in Manhattan, New York, he was the son of the late Efrain Kroon Sr. and the late Lucrecia (Rodriguez) Kroon. Efrain was the oldest of 4 children (Efrain, Robert, Steven, and David). Efrain Jr excelled in track and field, as one of the best sprinters while attending Shimer JHS and Jackson High School in Queens, NY. He was very athletic and could tell you everything about basketball, football, baseball, and boxing.

Efrain enjoyed being with family and traveling. He loved his cruises and taking vacations. One of his favorite past times was listening to his R & B music collection and watching movies. He knew every actor by name and could tell you what movies they played in.

Efrain worked at LaGuardia Hospital while living in Queens, NY. He moved to Albany, NY in 1988. He first worked at the Times Union Center in Albany, NY in environmental services. He later retired as supervisor of the Environmental Services Department at the YMCA in Albany NY.

Efrain is survived by three sons-Jermaine Kroon (wife Elizabeth) of Hazleton, PA; Efrain Kroon III of Queens, NY; Carlos Kroon (wife Elizabeth) of Newburgh, NY and three daughters- Natasha Kroon of Queens, NY; Jamie Clark of Watervliet, NY; and Randi Ladson of Albany, NY. He is survived by two brothers-Steven Kroon of Queens, NY, and David Kroon Sr of Salisbury, MD., 2 first cousins, Maria Kroon-Fortunato of the Bronx, NY and Richard Sabater of New City, NY. Those who will also cherish his memories are his 13 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by one brother, Robert Kroon. Services will be held privately.
