Koch, Karl J.

ALBANY- Karl J. Koch, 79, passed away on Sunday, November 28, 2021 at St. Peter’s hospital from complications due to COVID -19. Karl was born in Albany, the son of the late Charles and Jessie (Wullschleger) Koch. He graduated from Albany High School and served in the National Guard. Karl was a Systems Analyst with BOCES.

He was Past Master of the Guttenburg Lodge in 1980 and was currently the Treasurer. Karl joined Cyprus Shrine in 1984 and was a member of the Cyprus Marching Band. He was Past Assistant Grand Lecturer of the Albany Masonic District, Past Potentate of Cyprus Shriners in Glenmont, NY and current Recorder. He was Past Director of Jester Court 77, present member and Secretary of the Legion of Honor of Cyprus Shriners, a member and officer of many units and clubs of Cyprus Shriners. Karl was an active driver of the Cyprus Shepherds Club and was also a train enthusiast.

He is survived by his loving wife Betty (Boyd) Koch; son Charles F. Koch; granddaughters Camryn and Mackenzie Koch; sister Carolyn Koch; niece Kristin Adams and nephew Robert Wullschleger.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 3, 2021 at 11:00 am in the Daniel Keenan Funeral Home, Inc., 490 Delaware Ave. Relatives and friends are invited and may alsovisit with his family prior to the service from 9:00 am to 11:00 am. Masks are required. Inurnment will follow the service in Graceland Cemetery, Albany.
