Kissane, Geri T.

DELMAR – Geri (Shannon) Kissane, 69, passed away on Sunday, September 25, 2022 at St. Peter’s Hospital. Born in Albany, she was the daughter of the late Harold and Marjorie Shannon. A 1970 graduate of Cardinal McCloskey High School, Geri worked for NYS in the Department of Public Service, DOT, Civil Service and retired from the Thruway Authority in 2008.

Her life was filled with music, family, friends and a love of Cape Cod and animals. Geri cherished endless celebrations with family and friends at “Klub Kissane”; always with plenty of food, drinks and laughs. She took special pride into turning the Holidays into extravagant events.

Geri was predeceased by her husband Jack Kissane; her sister Patricia Craft, grandson Terrence Jalen Marquardt, and niece Bridget Shannon. She is survived by her sons Paul C. Marquardt, Sr. and Michael P. Mahoney (Loretta) both of Delmar; siblings Michael Shannon (Mary Pat) of Camillus, NY and Ft. Lauderdale, FL and Tim Shannon (Diana) of Delmar. She was Gramma G. to Paul C. Marquardt, Jr., Clyde Sisson IV, Marissa Sisson and Michael Sullivan Mahoney. Also survived by nieces and nephews Kim Craft-Hart (Dennis), Michael Shannon (Johanna) and Kevin Shannon (Caitlin); her lifelong dear friend Nancy Lovett and many friends from her work. She was special “G” to Nicole Reyes and her three smurfs; and will be missed by her black lab and faithful companion “Ms. Ella”.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with her family at the Daniel Keenan Funeral Home, Inc., on Wednesday, October 5, from 10:00 to 11:00 am prior to her service at 11:00 am. Inurnment will follow in St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands.
