Khoury, Carolyn M.

ALTAMONT-Carolyn Mary Khoury, 35, beloved wife of Nicholas Miller Khoury and mother of their late son, Nicholas Steven Khoury, or “Little Nick”, passed away on Friday, March 9, 2018. Carolyn’s husband loved her beyond measure, and she reciprocated the same love for both him and their son, whose memory she celebrated every day.

Carolyn is the daughter of Michael and Frances Alvino and older sister of her three siblings, Michael, Christopher, and Catherine. She is the daughter-in-law of Steven Khoury, Virginia Khoury, and Anthony Sherwell and sister-in-law of Noah and Sarah Khoury. She is the loving aunt of Charlie Rose Alvino, sister-in-law of Brenna Alvino, niece of Carolyn and Jon Pelzman, and granddaughter of the late Anthony and Rose Vacca and Pasquale and Mary Alvino.

Carolyn loved her family and friends more than anything in the world. Her closest friends were those she grew up with in Crestwood, NY and those she met during her schooling at The Ursuline School, Fordham University, Emory University, as well as those she came to know from her professional life.

With a natural ear for music, Carolyn was a self-taught piano player whose compositions had ethereal resonance. Carolyn received a Master’s in Public Health from Emory University. She dedicated her life to social work and had a selfless heart for helping those from all walks of life. Carolyn found immense joy in music; her favorite musicals included The Sound of Music and Fiddler on the Roof.

She was a devout catholic and deeply spiritual and leaves behind a vast network of friends and family whose lives she touched deeply. Carolyn was smart, kind, beautiful, and fun-loving. She will be deeply missed and carried forever in our hearts.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Carolyn’s family at the Daniel Keenan Funeral Home, 490 Delaware Ave., Albany on Friday, March 16 from 4 to 7 p.m. Her funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 17 at St. Fancis of Assisi Church, 391 Delaware Ave, Albany. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Glenmont.
