GLENMONT- John T. Keenan, Jr., died Tuesday, June 4, 2013 in the Hospice Inn at St. Peter’s Hospital. Born in Albany on January 10, 1936 he was the son of the late John Thomas and Grace (Anthony) Keenan, Sr. John was a graduate of Albany High School Class of 1953 and attended Albany Business College. He was employed by Hudson Valley Paper Company for more than 25 years and then Industries for the Blind. He also worked as a driver for Yankee Trails and the Bethlehem Central School District and as a driver/dispatcher for Albany Yellow Cab.
John was a member of the New York National Guard, the Grenadiers Drum and Bugle Corps., a chorister at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church and the Cathedral of All Saints, and an election inspector for the Town of Bethlehem. He was a former Exalted Ruler of Wadsworth Masonic Lodge in Albany and a former member of the Western Turnpike Rescue Squad. John was a Communicant of the Episcopal Cathedral of All Saints in Albany.
Survivors include his daughter, Jill (Paul) Keenan-Wagner; grandchildren, Erika Nicole Keenan and Justin Paul Wagner; his sister, Carol Nolan. He was predeceased by his brother, James Keenan.
A memorial Service will be held at the Cathedral of All Saints at a later date, to be announced in a future Times Union obituary notice. It will be a full service with all the prayers and music, John would have wished for.
