Kathleen M. Rossuck (Desharnais), of Latham, NY passed away on Sunday, February 18, 2024, at the age of 55. She was born on September 13, 1968, in New York, NY. Kathleen was a beloved wife, daughter, sister, aunt and friend. She will be deeply missed by her family and all who knew her. Kathleen is survived by her loving husband of 18 years, David R. Rossuck of Latham, NY. She is also survived by her mother, Anna Desharnais of Lake Luzerne, NY and her siblings: John Desharnais (Noreen) of Delmar, NY, Kevin Desharnais (Saloni) of Wilmette, IL, Michael Desharnais (Jennifer) of West Babylon, NY and Margaret Sarro (John) of Astoria, NY. She was predeceased by her beloved father, Ernest J. Desharnais. She is survived by her in-laws, Richard (Dick) and Virginia (Ginny) Rossuck of Glenmont, NY and her sister and brother-in-law, Lisa and John Alden Howard of Gilford, NH. She is also survived by 14 nieces and nephews and one great-nephew. Kathleen graduated from Baldwin Sr. High School in 1988 and also attended Nassau Community College in Garden City, NY. Kathleen moved to Albany, NY to participate in a program sponsored by the Northeast Association for the Blind at Albany (NABA). Through this program she gained access to an independent living program with Living Resources. She became a Wildwood client in a similar program after marrying her husband, Dave. Kathleen loved to work and had a variety of jobs. Her last job was working for the ShopRite in Niskayuna, from its opening to closing. She received her 10 year service award during her tenure there. Kathleen was admired for her persistence and independence which she valued highly, and she participated in many self advocacy programs. She was not afraid to make her views known. She was also admired for her sense of humor and incredible memory. Kathleen loved music, dancing, and swimming. Kathleen was also a cheerleader for her family. Her encouragement and interest knew no bounds. In addition to her devotion to her family, Kathleen loved being Dave’s wife and received great happiness from the life they shared. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 35 Adams Place, Delmar, on Saturday, February 24, at 12:00 pm. Visitation will be held at the Daniel Keenan Funeral Home, 490 Delaware Avenue, Albany, on Friday, February 23 from 4:00-7:00 pm.
