Karen M. Hotaling

Karen M. (Barton) Hotaling, 84, of Albany passed away April 17, 2024, with her loving family by her side. Born in Albany on March 23, 1940.

Survivors include 3 sons James Hotaling Jr, William Hotaling, Charles Hotaling and 1 daughter Elizabeth Potter (Duane), she is also survived by 1 sister Kathleen Selmer (David),  8 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, 1 niece, 2 nephews and many cousins.

Karen is predeceased in death by her husband of 50 years James T Hotaling Sr and 2 sons Thomas Hotaling and John Hotaling and parents Phillip and Marie Clark.

During her lifetime she was the Valedictorian of the first graduating class of Cardinal McCloskey High School in 1958.  Before entering the work force, she stayed home to raise her family.  She then worked as a cashier at Lerner’s downtown Albany for 24 years and worked at Grand Union/Hannaford in Delmar for 18 years.

Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Sunday April 21, 2024, from 2 pm to 5 pm at the Daniel Keenan Funeral Home, 490 Delaware Avenue, Albany, NY 12209. Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated on Monday April 22, 2024, at 10:30 am in Saint Francis of Assisi Parish, 391 Delaware Avenue, Albany, NY 12209. A burial will follow in the family plot at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
