Kalendek, Patricia Ann

DELMAR – On the evening of July 10, 2018 while at home in the loving arms of her daughter Beth, Patricia Ann Brady Kalendek entered into eternal life. Where one journey ends, another begins. Our angel has begun her new journey.

Patricia was born on September 30, 1940, the daughter of James Brady and Eleanor Schleiger Brady. She was the sister of James Brady and Eileen Munson. For 38 years, she was the beloved wife and friend of her dearly departed husband Raymond F. Kalendek.

Her children who are blessed to call her mom are Shelley (Clark) Bennett, James Bennett, Marcy (Stephen) Rollis, Beth Kalendek, Kathleen (Michael) Kalendek and step-son Raymond G. Kalendek.

Mom’s proudest accomplishment and greatest joy was being “Mimi” to her grandchildren Alexandra (Mathew) Salavitch, Cody Kalendek-Mosley, Andrew Rollis, Michaela Kalendek-Mosley and her little guy Noah Radley. She was also Mimi to her protective and mischievous doggies and kitties.

Patricia was a wonderful, loving and protective mother. We are blessed to have lifetimes of the happy memories she created for us. She was a tower of strength in our times of need and we are stronger for the lessons mom taught us. She enjoyed most of all time spent with her family, from camping trips in younger years to summers by the pool, family Cape Cod vacations, and years of holidays she made special for us. She loved us all being together and bestowed upon us the importance of family. Thank you mom.

She was incredibly loving, proud and devoted grandmother to Alexandra, Cody, Andrew, Michaela and Noah. She cherished her role as their Mimi and found pure joy in their presence. Mimi had a gift for storytelling. She would captivate her grandkids with her wonderful and imaginative stories of far- away places and amazing adventures. Mimi had many gifts as a grandmother. As her grandchildren grew older, she became a source of strength and encouragement for them. She was always there to listen, understand, protect and nurture. They will miss their Mimi dearly.

Our mother had a big heart and was known to be a sympathetic shoulder to lean on for those in need. She felt others’ pain and wanted to be there. Her mom role often extended outside of the family. She touched so many lives during her lifetime. One of her greatest legacies will certainly be her care and comfort of others. he was a friend to many.

Thank you to the wonderful staff of the Community Hospice for their tender care and support in our mother’s time of need. We extend a special thank you to nurse Sherri Cotter, companion and caregiver Karen Sullivan and Chaplain Cylon George for their care and comfort of our mom and for the special bonds formed during the final months of her journey. We are eternally grateful, as our family was able to fulfill mom’s wish of remaining at home.
