ALBANY – Mary Beth Jordan age 85, passed away Wednesday, April 18, 2018 surrounded by her loving children and their spouses. Mary Beth was born in Albany, New York to Paul and Mabel Somerville. She is survived by her beloved children Charlie and his wife Kathy of Medfield, MA and Paula Pierro and her husband Lou of Loudonville, NY. Her cherished grandchildren Kevin, Katherine and Connor Jordan and Victoria, Jordan and Cameron Pierro. Her treasured siblings, Retired Colonel Paul Somerville and his wife Carol of Woodbridge VA and Sister Jane Somerville RSM of Albany NY. In addition to several nieces and nephews and dear friends.

Mary Beth graduated from Vincentian Institute and the Mildred Elley College where she received a degree in Secretarial Arts. Mary Beth was a successful licensed realtor in the Buffalo NY area. Previously, she worked for Mobil Oil company and Mohawk Airlines. At an Oil Institute of New York meeting she met her sweetheart Chuck Jordan. They were married for 61 years and lived most of their lives in Hamburg NY. In 2006, she and Chuck moved to Albany to be closer to children and grandchildren.

Mary Beth was known for her thoughtfulness, generosity, kindness, quick wit and unwavering devotion to her children, grandchildren, siblings, cousins and countless friends. Throughout her life she maintained a direct and humorous demeanor that was enjoyed by everyone who knew her. Her countless acts of kindness, remembering all types of occasions, events and milestones for family, friends and acquaintances will be forever cherished by those whose lives she touched.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with her family Sunday, April 22 from 3-6 pm in the Daniel Keenan Funeral Home, Inc., 490 Delaware Ave. Albany. The parish family of Christ the King Church will gather at 3:30 pm in the funeral home for a service of prayer and remembrance. All are invited. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday, April 23, at 12 noon in Christ the King Church, 20 Sumter Ave. Guilderland. Interment will follow the Mass in Calvary Cemetery, Glenmont. Donations in Mary Beth’s memory can be made to the Northeastern Association of the Blind at Albany, 301 Washington Avenue, Albany, NY 12206. https://naba-vision.org/
