Jones, Eugenie S.

ALBANY- Eugenie S. Jones, 97, passed away Wednesday, December 11, 2013 at St. Peter’s Nursing and Rehabilitation Center after a short illness. Born in Schenectady, she was the daughter of the late Julius and Lottie Schliefke. Eugenie was a lifelong resident of Albany. She retired as a Senior Audit Clerk from the NYS Dept. of commerce in 1978. She was a 35 year member of the Bethany Reformed Church.

She was predeceased by her husband of 51 years, Carl L. Jones who died in 1992; her brother, Carl Schliefke and her sister Margaret Feeley. Eugenie is survived by her three sons, Leslie (Jean) Jones of Delmar, Rollin (Eileen) Jones of Albany and Wayne (Susan) Jones of Athens; seven grandchildren: David (Ellen) Jones, Jennifer (Jeffrey) Blodgett, Christopher (Rachel) Jones, Brian Jones, Stephen (Mac) Jones, Julia (Justin) Huyck, Teresa (Justin) Towle; 7 great-grandchildren; Courtney Blodgett, Douglas Jones, Patricia Jones, Adrian and Sophia Huyck and Imogen and James Towle.

The family would like to thank the staff of St. Peter’s Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for the passionate and loving care she received during her short stay.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 18, 2013 at 10:30am in the Daniel Keenan Funeral Home, 490 Delaware Ave. Relatives and friends are invited and may also call at the funeral home, Tuesday, December 17, 2013 from 4-7 pm. Interment will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery, Colonie.
