John Scott Dejulio

ALBANY -John “Scott” DeJulio, 62, of Albany, peacefully went to the beloved arms of our Lord on December 19, 2023.  He was the son of the late Mary and Joseph Lynn and beloved grandson of grandma and grandpa Miller (both deceased).

Scott was afflicted with Cerebral Palsy (CP) and relied on the use of a wheelchair to get around.  He strived to live independently and enjoyed going to the mall to meet up with friends and family to shop, to a movie or to eat a good meal.  He graduated from Albany High School and attended Hudson Valley.  He worked at the NYS Department of Motor Vehicles and the Center for Disabilities Services.

Scott was the brother of Mary Jane McGuire (Jeffrey Vunck) of Delmar, Anthony James DeJulio (Debbie) of Ellsworth, Maine, and Michael Joseph DeJulio (Ann Perry) of Delmar and nephew of John F Miller, Jr. (the late, Dorothy) and Julia A Lynn (the late, Bernard).

Scott is also survived by his nephews and nieces: Christopher Bowen, Mary McGuire (Brendan), Jim McGuire (Lisa), Kayleigh Emerson (Aaron), Mandi DeJulio, Anthony DeJulio, Jamie Carter (Ken), Krystal Gray (Bill), Christopher Wallace-DeJulio (Alyssa), Amber Wallace-DeJulio, Nycole Wallace-DeJulio, Samantha Wallace-DeJulio, Montanna Wallace-DeJulio, Jaxson Wallace-DeJulio, Brynnlee Wallace-DeJulio, Tysyn Wallace-DeJulio, Karsyn Wallace-DeJulio, Athena Sadler and also many great-nephews and nieces.

The family wishes to thank the staff at All Metro Health Care with special thanks to Naquanna, Kadina, Brittney and Sylvia for the loving care and support they gave Scott while he was home.

A visitation with the family will be held at the Daniel Keenan Funeral Home, 490 Delaware Ave., Albany, on Friday, December 29, 2023, from 4 to 6 PM.  There will be no burial, for Scott’s wish is to scatter his ashes to the sea.
