John P. Bogucki

SELKIRK – John Philip Bogucki, 91, passed away peacefully at home with his daughter by his side on Friday, August 26, 2022. John was one of six children born in Meriden, CT, to the late Anna (Andziewicz) and Vincent A. Bogucki. He was married to Jacquelynne Ann (Moody) Bogucki, the love of his life and his Everything, for 63 years before she died in 2018. John and Jackie lost their son, Scott Vincent, in 1985. John is survived by his daughter, Leslie Susan “Sissy” and her partner Lynn Foley. He is also survived by his brother and sister-in-law Raymond and Genevieve Bogucki; his sister Marguerite “Tootie” Bogucki, and his sister-in-law, Gail Bogucki. John was predeceased by his brother and sister-in-law Vincent “Bo” and Mary Sue Bogucki; his brother Justin “Dusty” Bogucki and his sister, Elizabeth “Betty” Rayball. John is also survived by many nieces and nephews and their children.

John met Jackie at the Hart College of Music where they fell in love singing opera together. He served in the United States Army, stationed in Anchorage, Alaska in 1957. He worked as a mail carrier for the United States Postal Service for 30 years, and retired from Albany in 1987. He lived in Petersburgh, NY for about 20 years, where he enjoyed caring for a small farm. Around 1970, John and Jackie built a beautiful home on Lake Pocomoonshine in alexander, Maine, where his love for fishing was fulfilled every evening at sunset. John and Jackie retired to Naples, FL in 1988. He enjoyed playing tennis, growing flowers, attending theater, cooking gourmet meals, and building sets for his wife’s shows.
