Joan K. Butman

Joan K. Butman, 90, daughter of the late John and Ann Kampf passed away on December 23, 2023.

Joan is survived by her sister Suzanne (Roger) Nachbar and brother Edward (Anne) Kampf, son John (Marcia) Butman, daughter Kathleen (Robert) Sherman and son Joseph (Michele) Butman as well as 10 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.  She is pre-deceased by her husband Thomas R. Butman Jr., son Thomas, daughter Elizabeth and sister Ann Cronin.

Joan enjoyed sewing and made many outfits for her children and grandchildren along with many beautiful quilts.  She also spent many hours compiling, organizing and making photo albums chronicling the family and putting together intricate jigsaw puzzles.  She enjoyed her independence and lived her life on her terms, and she will be missed.

A heartfelt thank you to her “Florida family”, Audrey, Carole and especially Harold for always looking out for her and making sure she was safe.

Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Friday January 19, 2024, from 10 am to 12 noon at the Daniel Keenan Funeral Home, 490 Delaware Avenue, Albany, NY 12209, with a 12 noon Memorial Service to follow.

In lieu of flowers donations in memory of Joan can be made to St. Jude's Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis TN, 38105.
