DELMAR – Thomas Ward Jeram, 83, passed away Saturday, November 10, 2018 in the comfort of his home.
Born in Albany to Frederick and Marguerite Trombly Jeram, he was raised in Delmar, graduated from Bethlehem Central High School, Siena College and Albany Law School. Mr. Jeram was a practicing attorney with D’Agostino, Hoblock, Flannery and Jeram. He was a member of the New York State Bar Association and served as Past President and Treasurer of the Albany County Bar Association. He was a member of the National Guard for 10 years the attorney for the Selkirk Fire Department for many years. He was a lifelong communicant of St. Thomas the Apostle Church.
His greatest joy in life, along with his wife Ann, was raising 8 children and nurturing their Catholic education at St. Thomas the Apostle School.
He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Ann Jeram; children Deborah Jeram, Kimberly Ganley (Vincent), Elizabeth Willis (Jesse), Peggy Jeram, Daniel Jeram (Jennifer), Peter Jeram (Michelle), Kassie Scholz (Rob), and Theresa Cohen (Brian); his sister Mary Jeram; grandchildren Lauren, Tommy and Anna Ganley, Peter, and Justin Willis, Jimmy, Ben, and Madeline Jeram, Sam and Olivia Jeram, Ryan and Ava Scholz, Lewis and Henry Cohen; also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers Frederick and Francis Jeram.
He was a devoted father who attended many sporting events for his children and grandchildren. He coached several of his children’s teams. His example of a strong work ethic and compassion for others, was instilled in his children. As a humble man, he enjoyed doing things for others. No one could miss his friendly smile and twinkle in his eyes. His strength and sense of family will forever be in our hearts and actions. DOD, Dear Old Dad, we will miss you!
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with his family on Thursday, November 15 from 4-8 pm in the Daniel Keenan Funeral Home, Inc., 490 Delaware Ave. Albany.
His Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, November 16 at 9:30 am in St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 35 Adams Pl. Delmar. Interment will follow the Mass in Bethlehem Cemetery.
