Janson L. Fros

Janson L. Fros, 42, of Albany passed away May 6, 2024, at Albany Medical Center with his loving family by his side after a brief illness. Born in Albany on February 23, 1982, he is the son of Linda M. (Peterson) Romano and Jacobus H. Fros.

Just like his favorite song, Janson lived a life of a “Simple Man”. Born and raised in Selkirk, NY, he later moved to North Carolina where he could enjoy a quiet life where others shared his old-fashioned values, and faith in God, instilled in him by his parents. It was those values, and his love for his country, that led him to join the United States Coast Guard and serve for 4 years. His pride in his time spent in the military is what helped encourage his oldest son, Lucas, to follow in his footsteps and join the Coast Guard as well.

People were drawn to Janson and his infectious laugh. He was most happy singing some of his favorite tunes while strumming a guitar, and his quiet and soothing voice had a calming effect on those around him. If someone needed help, Jan was there; he never hesitated to jump in and get dirty. Others often looked to him for help with projects that utilized his talented carpentry skills, which he acquired from his father.

Janson is survived by his loving and doting mother Linda Romano, and her late husband Barry Romano, and his supportive and devoted father Jakobus Fros and Louann Caruso. He is also survived by his children, Lucas, Lily and Tanner; his brothers Joe Tannatta (Tara), Aaron Tannatta (Jamie); multiple nieces and nephews he loved dearly; extended family, as well as friends that became family. Jan also left behind his loving partner Victoria, and her daughter Kana. Jan will be missed by all who knew him and will be remembered for his helpful nature, contagious laugh, and patient love.

Relatives and friends are invited to call on Friday May 10, 2024, from 4 pm to 7 pm at the Daniel Keenan Funeral Home, 490 Delaware Avenue, Albany, NY 12209. Funeral Services will take place at the Funeral Home on Saturday May 11, 2024 at 10 am. Entombment will follow in the family plot of St. Agnes Cemetery.
