ALBANY-James W.. Holloway, 79, died Sunday, November 21, 2010 at the Eddy Heritage House Nursing Center in Troy. Born in Harrisonville, MO. he was the son of the late James H. and Ora Frances (Capper) Holloway. Mr. Holloway graduated from High School in Kansas City, MO. and then served his country in the US Navy during the Korean War.
He moved his family to Albany in 1953. Mr. Holloway was a letter carrier for the US Postal service for 30 years, retiring in 1990.He was a former member of the Albany Elks BPOE #49 and a 50 year member of the National Association of Letter Carriers. He was an avid reader and after retirement he enjoyed a new hobby doing still life paintings.
Husband of 58 years of Jean (Fitzgerald) Holloway; father of John (Terry) Holloway of Albany and James W. (Tara) Holloway of Selkirk; brother of Mary (Michael) Street of OK., Frank (Sandy) Holloway of NC and Thomas Holloway of MO. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be private at the convenience of the family.
