Holloway, Jean A.

ALBANY- Jean A. Holloway, 86, passed away on Thursday, August 9, 2018. A proud resident of Albany, NY she was the daughter of the late John J. Fitzgerald and Stella (Skozny) Fitzgerald.

Jean graduated in 1949 from St. Anne’s High School in Albany and then served her country in the US Navy WAVES during the Korean War. Jean returned to Albany in 1953 with her husband, the late James Holloway, to raise her family. Jean worked for New York Telephone compiling the Yellow Pages, retiring in 1996 after 30 years of service.

A devoted wife and mother, Jean was predeceased by her husband of 58 years, James W. Holloway and is survived by her sons John J. (Terry) Holloway of Albany and James W. (Tara) Holloway of Bethlehem; seven grandchildren Corina Holloway, Lauren Holloway Lumbra, Wesley Holloway, Diane Burgos, Jamie Holloway, Alice Holloway and Michael Holloway; twelve great-grandchildren, several cousins and many friends.

Jean was an avid reader who loved local history, genealogy, traveling with her husband and spending time with her family and friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Jean’s family on Monday, August 13, 2018 from 4-7 pm in the Daniel Keenan Funeral Home, 490 Delaware Ave. Albany. Her funeral service will be held privately for the family. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Glenmont.
