Hoffman, Michelle K.

ALBANY- Michelle K. (George Gianquitto) Hoffman, 71, passed away Wednesday, April 13, 2022 after a brief illness. Born in Albany, she was the daughter of the late Elias and Evelyn George. Michelle graduated from Albany High School, class of 1968.

After 35 years with the NYS Department of Labor, she continued to work with the Polish Community Center and The Colonie Elks.

Michelle loved her family and spent as much time with them as possible. She loved a good book on the beach, and bowling with her coworkers. Part of her joy was caring for her great nephews, either changing diapers, trips to the mall for movies, shopping, or Santa. She enjoyed summers at Saratoga Racetrack, and at her camp up north in the Hague. If you could hear the music, you could find Michelle. She truly found the good in everyone. Her bright light and zest for life will leave a gap in our lives.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Wayne Hoffman and her cousin Kristie Prokrym-Johnson. Survivors include her beloved sister Lynn Nardacci and brother-in-law Lawrence; nephew Lawrence E. Nardacci; niece Natalie Michelle (Dan) Macie; great-nephews Anthony Nardacci and Bryson Macie. She is also survived by her aunt, Jeanette Prokrym, cousins Mary Morrell, JoAnn Curry, Stephen Prokrym, Deborah Brown, Regina Sahagian and their families, as well as her boyfriend and constant companion, John Gorzki. Heartfelt thanks to Della and Austin from the Delmar Center for their compassion while caring for our Michelle.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Michelle’s family on Monday, April 18, 2022 from 3-7 pm in the Daniel Keenan Funeral Home, Inc, 490 Delaware Ave. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 19, at 10:00 am in the funeral home. Interment will follow in Graceland Cemetery, Albany.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church, Mohawk Hudson Humane Society, or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
