Hier, Phyllis M.

Albany - Phyllis Hier passed away peacefully at St. Peter's Hospital on Tuesday, February 20,2018.

Born August 21, 1929 to the late Angelina and Leonard Sileo, she lived her entire life in Albany. Always ready for a good time, Phyllis enjoyed playing darts, bowling and being around people. She was a past member of the Polish Community Center, Zaloga Post, Italian Community Center and Senior Center of Albany where she also volunteered. She currently enjoyed her Sunday breakfasts with the group from St. Francis of Assisi Church and her lunches with the Birthday Club. She worked for 43 years at the NYS Taxation & Finance Department. She also volunteered at St. James/St. Francis food pantry for many years.

In addition to her parents Phyllis was predeceased by her sisters, Angelina Sileo, Carmella Scrimalli (Vito), Lucy Zindle (Russell), Bertha Liuzzi (Carmen), brothers Daniel DeRubbo (Mary) and Anthony Sileo; and nephew, Vincent Liuzzi.

She is survived by her daughter Angelina Hollinger (Gary), grandsons Marc and Stephen Murphy (Jessica), and great-grandson Mason Murphy. Also survived by nephews Daniel DeRubbo, Jr., Paul Liuzzi, Frank Torre, Ernest Torre, Russell Zindle, and nieces Tracy Crisafulli, Donna Sileo, Terry Sileo, Theresa Sileo, Ann Zindle, Jennifer Zindle and Therese Torre.

Phyllis would like to thank her best friends Loretta Rossi, Rachel Rossi and Suzanne Galib for their love and friendship and would like to make sure all her friends knew how much she loved them.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, February 23rd, at 10 am in St. Francis of Assisi Church, 391Delaware Ave., Albany, followed by interment at Calvary Cemetery in Glenmont. Friends and family are invited to calling hours from 4-6 pm on Thursday, February 22, 2018 at Daniel Keenan Funeral Home, 490 Delaware Ave., Albany.
