HAMMONT, EUGENE J.


CANTON, GA-Eugene J. Hammont, 85, of Canton, GA passed away Thursday, May 6, 2010. Mr. Hammont was born in Albany to the late Mark & Anna P. Lynch Hammont and attended Albany High School. He retired in 1987 as a Sales Manager with Bordens, Inc. of Menands, NY after 29 years of service. Gene was a member and elder of Oakwood Bible Church in Troy and attended St. Clement’s Episcopal Church in Canton, after moving to Georgia in 2005.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 55 years, G. Jeane Jones Hammont. He is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law, Mark & Carol Hammont, Canton, GA, Brian E. and Debra Hammont, Jordanville, NY; sister, Ann Cardettino, Albany ; 11 grandchildren and several nieces & nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 10 AM Wednesday, May 12, 2010 at the Oakwood Bible Church, 260 Oakwood Ave., Troy. Relatives and friends are invited and may also call at the Daniel Keenan Funeral Home, 490 Delaware Ave., Albany on Tuesday May 11, 2010 from 4-7 PM. Entombment will be in Memory’s Garden, Colonie.
