Gorzynski, Stanley A.

ALBANY – Stanley A. Gorzynski, 81, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 21, 2017 at The Pines at Catskill.

Born in Albany he was the son of the late Stanley and Lucille (Coluccio) Gorzynski. Stanley attended the former Philip Schuyler High School and received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from SUNY Albany.He taught English at Hackett Jr. High from 1958-1960, Spanish at Albany High School from 1960-1986 and was the supervisor of foreign languages for the Albany City School District from 1986 until his retirement in 1993.

He was a Communicant of the Parish of Mater Christi. He enjoyed New York Theatre, movies, horse racing, traveling and was a NY Yankees fan.

Stanley is survived by several cousins including Frances Mitchell of Staten Island and Anthony Coluccio of Albany; his close friends Neil Esposito of Bayonne, NJ, Keith Dominique of Elizaville, NY, James Morrill, Doris Penman and Ernestine Colasurdo all of Albany.

Thank you to the nurses and staff at The Pines at Catskill, especially Mary Pat and Bridget for the compassionate care extended to Stanley.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Stanley’s family at the Daniel Keenan Funeral Home, 490 Delaware Ave., on Tuesday, May 23, 2017 from 4-7 p.m. His funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 24, 2017 in the Parish of Mater Christi, 40 Hopewell Street, Albany. Interment will be in St. Agnes Cemetery in Menands.
