CIRCLEVILLE, NEW YORK - Nadine Ann Glenning, from Albany NY, passed away early the morning of August 1st 2021. She had been in deep contemplation of this moment for the last several months finally accepting God’s call by saying “here am I Lord”.
For those of you who would like to know Nadine better we know of no better writing to recommend than the beatitudes in the opening of Matthew 5, the Sermon on the Mount.
Nay is a beloved daughter of the late Robert L. Glenning and the late Patricia Nadine Glenning. She is the beloved niece of the late Sheila Barrett who was a guiding light in the upbringing of Nay, her siblings and ultimately her children. (It was only fitting that AhAh guided Nay’s final steps to heaven on her, AhAh’s, birthday where Nay joined her Mother, Father and brother John in heaven.)
Nay taught us more by her example of hard work, her intense love of family, our country and the USMC then could be explained here and now. An extremely private person she solved problems her way through dogged hard work and grace. We mention her love of country and the USMC not because it is trendy; Nay was no popsicle patriot. Her patriotism was real, having experienced our greatest generation first hand and the deeply intense experience of the love of her life and husband Mike. She knew the personal cost of patriotism, being all too familiar with two generations of Purple Hearts and her 34 years working in the VA health system.
Surviving Nay is her husband and partner; A Michael Ali; her beloved children Brian (Laura), Josephine, Kathryn (Nate), and Madeleine; beloved sister, Sheila Glenning; beloved brothers, John (in heaven) (Laurie), Robert (Elizabeth), Daniel (Jo), James (Doreen), and Stephen (Catherine); as well as dozens of cousins, nieces and nephews. Proving one final time that her love is infinite, Mama Bear was entirely smitten by her grandson Colin who lovingly called her GiGi.
Until we meet again she is holding us all in the palm of her hand.
It was Nay’s wish that she be cremated and her ashes spread in a familiar place where she had many happy times. There will be no wake or service in keeping with her intensely private nature; she is already well known to God. Her family will be gathering to reminisce and share our favorite stories, you should do likewise in your heart.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Hospice of Orange-Sullivan County, 800 Stony Brook Ct, Newburgh, NY 12550 or the Kaplan Family Hospice Residence, 1 Sunrise Lane, Newburgh, NY 12550.
