ALBANY- Howard F. Glasser, 86, died Thursday, August 19, 2010 at St. Peter’s Hospital. Born and educated in Albany, he was the son of the late William and Sarah (Winchell) Glasser. Mr. Glasser was a Veteran of WWII having served in the 15th Air Force as a “Belly Gunner” on a B 24 assigned to the BG 484th 827 Squadron. He retired from the United States Air Force as Master Sergeant after a 20 year career. Upon retirement from the Military, Mr. Glasser worked for the US Postal Service as a mail handler for over 24 years. He was a longtime communicant of St. John’s-St. Ann’s Church and was a member of the Sheehy Palmer VFW Post and the Bethlehem Elks.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Regina “Jean” (Pomakoy) Glasser; son, Robert (Linda) Glasser of Rotterdam; grandsons Michael (Jessica) Glasser and Joseph (Toni) Glasser; great-grandson Joshua Michael. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and several brothers-in-law and sisters–in-law. He was predeceased by his son John Howard and daughter Janice Ann.

Funeral services will be held, Monday August 23, 2010 at 9:45 am from the Daniel Keenan Funeral Home, Inc., 490 Delaware Ave. thence to St. Francis of Assisi Parish, South End Site (Formerly St. John’s- St. Ann’s Church) where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 am. Relatives and friends are invited and may also call at the funeral home Sunday, August 22, 2010 from 4-7 pm. Interment will follow the Mass in Our Lady Help of Christians Cemetery, Glenmont, NY.
