GIULIANO, MARY A.

ALBANY- Mary A. (Grigerek) Giuliano, 95, died peacefully on Tuesday, January 26, 2010 at Barnwell Nursing Home in Valatie.

Born on March 12, 1914 in Schenectady, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Mary Grigerek. She worked for the General Electric Company and later as a Key Punch Operator in the NYS Department of Taxation and Finance. Mrs. Giuliano was a member of the Louise Corning Senior Citizens Center and a Communicant of St. James Church.

Mary enjoyed playing board games and pinochle with her family. She was also the former New York State Jitterbug Champion.

She is survived by her son Robert Giuliano of Albany and daughter Lynn Burke of Albany; four grandchildren, Robert (Cubby) and Michael Giuliano, Philip and Lisa Burke; and several great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her brothers; Michael, Joseph, John, Steven, and Sylvester Grigerek; and her former husband Angelo Giuliano.

The family wishes to thank the staff at Barnwell Nursing Home and Hospice for their wonderful care and support.

Funeral services will be held Friday 9:15 am from the Norman E. Dascher Funeral Home, 490 Delaware Ave. Albany, thence to St. James Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am. Relatives and friends are invited and may also call at the funeral home Thursday from 5-7 pm. Interment will be in Sts. Cyril and Method Cemetery, Schenectady. Memorial contributions in memory of Mary may be made to The Community Hospice of Columbia/Greene Counties, 47 Liberty St., Catskill, NY 12414.
