ALBANY - Joan A (O’Connor) Gaylord, 76, died Wednesday, August 15, 2018 in the Hospice Inn at St Peters Hospital surrounded by family and friends. Born in Albany on December 9, 1941, she was the daughter of the late W. Patrick and Anna Mae (Wissler) O’Connor. She was a graduate of Albany High School. Mrs. Gaylord was a Clerk for New York State in Albany for over 40 years. She was a long time member of the alter rosary society as well as parishioner of St Francis of Assisi (formerly St James Church) and a member of the Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians. Mrs. Gaylord was also a life time Auxiliary member of the Sheehy Palmer VFW Post 6776, and the American Legion Auxiliary.
Wife of the late Charles A Gaylord; Beloved mother of Michelle Hupe (Charles) and Patrick Gaylord (Melissa Loson); and cherished grandmother of Meaghan Hupe (fiancé Sean Baxter) and Caitlin Hupe. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews, as well as her VFW family, especially her “soldiers” and dear friends, Tom and Darlene Gallagher.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with her family Friday, August 17, from 4-7 pm in the Daniel Keenan Funeral Home Inc., 490 Delaware Ave.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 18, at 8:45 am from the funeral home thence to St. Francis of Assisi Church, where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9:30am. Entombment will follow the Mass in the mausoleum of St.
Agnes Cemetery, Menands. Those who wish may send donations to VFW, 406 West 34th St., Kansas City, MO 64111.
