Garvey, Maurice G. “Mo”

SLINGERLANDS- Maurice G. "Mo" Garvey 73, passed away Monday, February 19, 2018 at home. He is the son of the late Maurice C. and Suzanne Garvey. Born in Northampton, Mass, he was educated in Amherst and graduated from the University of Massachusetts. He was a landscape architect. Maurice was a Communicant of St. Francis of Assisi Parish and an active Church volunteer especially with the food pantry. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, framing and the arts.

Survivors include 6 sisters; Margaret Gralenski (late Nicholas) of Aptos, Calif., Mary Mazzei (late Francis) of Amherst, Mass., Cyrilla Ashley (late Bert) of Troy, Judith Garvey of South Hadley, Mass., Angela D’Angelo (Joseph) of Beaver Creek, Ohio and Honora Thebodo (Robert) of Lyme, NH; brother-in-law George Como of Amherst, Mass.; many nieces and nephews and their families and his esteemed walking partner, Mary Elizabeth Jones of Delmar. He was predeceased by his sisters Katharine Fusini (late Carlo) of Windsor, Mass. and Cornelia Como of Amherst, Mass and; his beloved friend, Antoinette Gioeni.

His Funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday at 11 am in St. Francis of Assisi Parish, 391 Delaware Ave. Albany. Relatives and friends are invited and may also call at the Daniel Keenan Funeral Home, 490 Delaware Ave. Albany from 9:00 -10:30 am prior to the Mass.
